Evaluate speed, performance and reliability of your wifi mobile hotspots and internet connection.  All wifi hotspot providers publish "coverage maps" that give consumers a very high level view of where they provide coverage.  However, even within those coverage maps, there will be spots where coverage is spotty or unreliable.  Speed Peeps is an application that runs in the background when you want it to and will continously monitor your network connection, testing download speeds.  Additionally, Speed Peeps crowd sources the speeds and allows data to be averaged across our user base, giving our users a great way to compare internet coverage in their area with other users.  What does crowd sourced mean?  Simply that data is collated with all users in a given area and averaged out so you can effectively research wifi providers in your area and see which may be a good fit.

• Test and monitor your speed passively every 5 minutes (or every 100 meters if you are on the go)
• All speed data is recorded and viewable in real-time
• Track your wifi hotspot low signal or slow areas
• Data is stored anonymously - there is no user id linked to a particular person.  All user ids are randomly generated
• Crowd sourced maps provide real-time data that is averaged across our user base
• Crowd sourced speeds of other wifi providers are available for research and comparison
